Boston Globe correspondent Scott
Alarik has written: "Jacqueline Schwab is one of the most immediately
recognizable pianists in America, although very few people actually
know who she is." She has performed for President Clinton at the White House celebration of Burns' Lewis and Clark. Additional soundtrack work includes documentaries by other PBS filmmakers (including The Irish in America) and two Master Card television commercials. Drawing on classical, traditional
and dance music, Jacqueline performs solo concerts of vintage American
music from Stephen Foster to Billie Holiday -- quiet, introspective
pieces contrasted with up-tempo vintage dances. Jacqueline has recorded and performed for dancers nationwide with the improvisatory dance music ensemble Bare Necessities. She has also performed and recorded with Scottish fiddler Laura Risk (Celtic Dialogue, on the Dorian label), singer Jean Redpath (including on A Prairie Home Companion), fiddler Alasdair Fraser, glass harmonica performer Dean Shostak and others.
