Julie A. Dunfey has most recently been a consultant for Florentine Films on Jazz, scheduled for broadcast on PBS in January 2001, and on Not for Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, which was broadcast on PBS in November 1999. She was the co-producer of The Civil War, a ten-part series on the history of the Civil War, which was funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and General Motors, and was broadcast on PBS in 1990. She also co-produced Thomas Hart Benton, a ninety-minute portrait of the life and work of one of America's most controversial painters. It was funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and Equitable Investment Corporation and was broadcast on PBS in 1989.

Ms. Dunfey lives in New England with her husband and their three children. She received her M.A. in American history from Stanford University and is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Phillips Exeter Academy.
