Roger Sherman\u2019s films have won two Academy Award nominations, an Emmy, a Peabody, a James Beard Award. He was awarded the Forward50, given to Jews who have influenced American culture, and won the Yitzhak Rabin Spice of Life Culinary Award.<\/p>\n

His subjects include social issues, the environment, food, art, history, science, and culture.<\/p>\n

Public Speaker<\/h4>\n

Roger has spoken about his films and filmmaking and given workshops around the country. He’s now booking The New Face of Israeli Cuisine<\/em>, a follow up to his acclaimed In Search of Israeli Cuisine<\/em>, an interactive, virtual event.<\/p>\n

Cinematography<\/h4>\n

Roger is the cinematographer on most of his films. As a freelancer, he\u2019s filmed The Gates<\/i> for Maysles Films, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis<\/i>, and Fats Domino<\/i> for The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Mayan Pyramids<\/i> for the National Gallery of Art, and many others.<\/p>\n

Photography<\/h4>\n

Roger shoots food, gardens, travel, portraits, and whatever else catches his eye. His work<\/a> <\/span>has appeared in Town & Country, Saveur, Budget Travel, Garden Design, MetHome<\/i>, and Newsweek<\/i>. He photographed The Brisket Book: A Love Story With Recipes<\/i> by Stephanie Pierson.\u00a0As We Are – Disability: Portraits of a Community<\/i>, is comprised of eighteen large portraits of the disability community of the City University of New York (CUNY). It hangs at the Baruch College Library.<\/p>\n

The Book<\/h4>\n
