The New Face of Israeli Cuisine

The New Face of Israeli Cuisine is a virtual or in person conversation with Roger Sherman, a follow up to his acclaimed film In Search of Israeli Cuisine, a portrait of the Israeli people, told through food, conflict and all. Roger shows a scene not included in the film and discusses it with the group, encouraging questions and comments.

It’s a culinary travelogue: we’ll meet Haim Cohen, a pioneer chef who had to defy his mother to open a restaurant. We’ll go to a Druse wedding, and after visiting an ancient wine press in the Negev, the audience will be surprised to learn the difference between award winning kosher wine and appellation contrôlée.
